About Our School

British Values

We are committed to the active promotion of the four fundamental British values through the Personal Development Curriculum and subject curricula as part of Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural education:

  • Democracy

  • The rule of law

  • Individual liberty

  • Mutual respect and tolerance.

In actively promoting British Values, we will also focus on, and are able to show how our work with pupils is effective in, embedding fundamental British values. Actively promoting also means challenging pupils, staff or parents expressing opinions contrary to fundamental British Values, including ‘extremist’ views. We provide a culturally diverse curriculum and adopt non-discriminatory procedures and anti-racist practice.

PATHS

We embed British Values through our PATHS Programme and encourage democracy at our School Council and through Children’s Voice. In this way we are also promoting the spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development of our pupils.
