Computing Curriculum

We have designed our Curriculum to give all pupils rich, deep learning experiences that balance all the aspects of computing. With technology playing such a significant role in society today, we believe ‘Computational thinking’ is a skill children must be taught if they are to be able to participate effectively and safely in this digital world. A high-quality computing education equips pupils to use creativity to understand and change the world.

We use Teach Computing to support our planning and implementation of the Computing curriculum which promotes collaborative learning, independence, exploration, and logic. The curriculum is built on a progression framework where computing content has been organised into interconnected networks. We have balanced our Units to ensure coverage across the Key Stages . Online Safety is taught as a discrete unit , supporting the other the units and also as part of our RSHE and PSHE curriculums.
